Community Spotlight - Fort Wood Community and Spouses' Club!

 Fort Wood Hotels takes great pride in being involved in our community. Our mission is to serve our guests, our community, and each other! This week, we would like to feature one of Fort Leonard Wood's Non-for-Profit organizations, Fort Wood Community and Spouses' Club. We are a huge supporter of military families and believe the spouses are critical to the success of their military members. Read on to learn more about this incredible organization!

1) Tell us about your organization?

 Our membership includes spouses of all branches and all ranks, as well as DOD civilians and members of the surrounding community. We are administered by a board of volunteers who give their time, energy, and talents toward making Fort Leonard Wood a great place to be.

2) What is the Mission Statement of your organization?

Non-for-profit organization designed to benefit families, by raising and distributing funds back into the community through scholarships and outreach grants. While creating lifelong friendships and partnerships with the community.

3) How long has your organization been serving our community?

The FWCSC has a rich history that actually goes back to the late 1960s. Before we ever became the Fort Wood Community Spouses’ Club, we were several different organizations all working for the same goal. In the early 2000s the other organizations disbanded and created FWCSC, which is still active today!

4) How can our community help serve your mission? 

● Our new Board starts up on June 1st, and we have several positions available. If you are interested please contact Jamiee Reed at presidentfwcsc@gmail.com for more information.

● From the months of September to May we partner with a local Non-Profit each month in our community to help raise physical and monetary donations.

● We’re always looking for amazing Volunteers to help not only serve on our board, but also help us throughout the year with our Annual Craft and Antique Fair in November, Basket Auction in the Spring, and other activities held on a month to month basis!

5) Do you have any events you’d like to promote in 2022?

● May 17th Luncheon at the USO 11am to 1pm

● May 17th Scholarship and Community Outreach Presentation at OTC 6pm to 8pm
