Every employee starts with extensive training under the leadership of our Director of Training and Development, Michelle Beckley. Her style of training is fun and thorough. Extensive Training- At Fort Wood Hotels we believe success begins with training. We pride ourselves on our Ozark Hospitality at our properties. An employee can't give proper hospitality if they don't have the proper training. Our training is extensive, and we give each employee the knowledge needed to be successful in their position. Fort Wood Hotels trains every employee to become a brand ambassador. Our brand ambassadors learn our standard of hospitality, hotel culture, hotel brand-specific training, our brand motto, and values. Ultimately this extensive training leads our staff to become brand superstars. Each employee is assigned a hotel trainer to go over our handbook, learn emergency procedures, accident procedures, safety procedures, fire procedures, hotel security, and more. They have reviews, workbooks, sit-downs, and evaluations during this extensive process. Training at Fort Wood Hotels is ongoing and there are many new programs as well as refresher training yearly.

Proven System- All employees go through the same proven training system, so they are set up for success. All team members work in the hotel for 30-60 days learning the systems and training in that hotel. Our system goes over Fort Wood Hotels mission, values, and policies. All employees attend an orientation visiting all six Fort Wood Hotels. At each hotel, they receive a tour from the manager to learn about the manager's history in the company. Most of the Fort Wood Hotels managers have been promoted within so it is a great way to show our new employees that we have growth opportunities. At each property, our staff will see rooms and all the amenities for each hotel is discussed in detail. Our Training Manager and Hotel Managers review the history of Fort Wood Hotels, reviews our owner's history and reiterates the company's values. During orientation, everyone visits the local tourism office to learn about the area so they can be a strong resource for all hotel guests. During the orientation, all the employees attending are treated to lunch.
