Fourth of July Events and a Few Fun Facts!
It's almost time to celebrate Independence Day across the United States, the day we declared our independence from Great Britain...America's Birthday! Fourth of July is a fun holiday filled with family BBQ's, fireworks, picnics, fairs and more! Here at Fort Wood Hotels, we love this holiday and today, we would like to share with you some of the Fourth of July events in the Fort Leonard Wood area as well as some fun facts about the Fourth of July!
The celebration includes a car show, games, activities, Salute to the Union, and live entertainment by Jerrod Niemann and Red Sun Rising. Red Sun Rising will perform at 6:30 p.m. and Jerrod Niemann will perform at 8:15 p.m.
The grand finale, the area's largest fireworks display, will follow the concert and light up the sky with a blaze of glory.
Free and open to the public. Event is festival seating, please bring your own lawn chairs. For the safety of our Service Members and Families - no coolers, pets, or fireworks allowed on the venue.
Salute to 75 with Fireworks
July 3rd
Lebanon I-44 Speedway
Just up the interstate from Fort Leonard Wood, the Lebanon I-44 Speedway will have fireworks and Ozark Pro Late Model Series 75 lap special along with racing for Modified, Big 10 Late Model, Street Stock, Hornets, and Phil Harris Legends
Rolla Lions Club Carnival
July 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th 6:00pm - 12:00am
The 84th Annual Rolla Lions Club Carnival will be held July 3 - 6, 2019. Fireworks will be on July 4 at 10pm and on July 6 at 11pm.4th of July Car Show

What better way to show your support to our Military on Independence Day than by showcasing your ride for all to enjoy! Categories include cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Richland Parks Independence Day Celebration
July 13th 5pm - 10pm
Shady Dell Park
Head over to Shady Dell Park in Richland, Mo for their annual firework display in the park. This is the best firework show around and a wonderful time for the family. Come out early for live music and delicious food to get your spot early in the park.Fun Facts About 4th of July
Fireworks, BBQ's, and Picnics are well known for the 4th of July but you may not know some of there are a lot of things many people don't know about the Fourth. Check out some fun facts below!
- John Hancock was the only person who actually signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776 - others signed later.
- The White House had its first 4th of July party in 1801
- Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be named the national bird but was overruled by John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.
- In 1776, only 2.5 million people were living in the United States. Now the US population is over 329 million people.
- BBQ's are popular on Independence Day and America consumers approximately 150 million hotdogs.
- Every 4th of July, the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia is tapped - not rung, thirteen times in honor of the thirteen original colonies.
