If you’ve been staying inside for an extended period of time due to the health concerns of our country, a great way to get outdoors while still practicing social distancing is to visit one our nearby State Park or nature areas. Fresh air and physical exercise is great for both mental health and physical health. Read to find out more about where to a hike in our local area.

Missouri state parks are currently open. Whether exploring trails by foot or by bike, physical activity is beneficial for both physical and mental health. Outdoor spaces are well-suited to increased social distance, and fresh air is a great way to calm your mind. But, we must remain diligent in taking steps to make your visit as safe and enjoyable as possible:
Missourians and park visitors are encouraged to review information provided by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services as it relates to COVID-19.
Missouri state parks are currently open. Whether exploring trails by foot or by bike, physical activity is beneficial for both physical and mental health. But, we must remain diligent in taking steps to make your visit as safe and enjoyable as possible:
- If you or someone in your household feels ill or may have been exposed to someone who is ill, stay home and contact your health care provider.
- If you visit, be sure to pack water, extra soap and/or hand sanitizer. Due to limited services, water, soap or sanitizer may not always be available.
- Practice social distancing by avoiding groups of more than 10 people and keeping a distance of at least six feet from others.

Trail of Tears Memorial

A certified historic site on the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail is a landmark that was used as a Cherokee encampment. Located at Roubidoux Springs, Laughlin Park in Waynesville, this park is a gorgeous place for walking and enjoying the outdoors.

In Laclede County, Bennet Spring is one of Missouri's earliest State Parks that attracts fishermen, nature lovers, kayakers, and is a place of recreation that welcomes visitors!
Currently, the fish hatchery, visitors centers, and restaurants are closed to the public. However, there are plenty of nature trails if you feel like getting out for some exercise.

Ha Ha Tonka State Park

Ha Ha Tonka State Park is located at the Lake of the Ozarks which is just right up the road from our hotels in St.Robert, Mo.
