Comfort Inn GM is Taking Over as the President of the Waynesville-St.Robert Chamber of Commerce!

Our mission at Fort Wood Hotels is to serve our guests, our community, and each other! We stand by our mission in every facet of our business operations. We are excited to announce that our General Manager of the Comfort Inn, Janel Rowell, is taking over the as the Waynesville-St. Robert Chamber of Commerce President on July 1st! About the Waynesville-St.Robert Chamber of Commerce

The Waynesville - St. Robert Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of citizens who are investing their time and money in a community development program, working together to improve the economic, civic, and cultural well-being of the area. Any citizen who is interested in helping to develop the area (which means more money, more business, more jobs, and better living for everyone) is eligible to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce. The work of the Chamber is financed by the investment of the members. The Chamber is composed of the Chamber Membership, Executive Board, Board of Directors, Committee Volunteers, an Executive Director, and Staff.

Chamber Mission Statement

The mission statement of the Waynesville-St. Robert Area Chamber of Commerce is to be the motivating force in advocating, coordinating, leading and promoting existing and future business development, economic diversity, and tourism. We shall enhance the quality of life through programs, services, community development, recognition, and pride.

More About Janel

Janel Rowell was born and raised in Waynesville where she still lives now with her husband Sam of 20 years, and their two boys; Crismon age 16 and Zander, age 12. She works as the General Manager at the Comfort Inn in St Robert/Fort Leonard Wood, part of Fort Wood Hotels by Ehrhardt Properties. She has spent the last 21 years in the Hospitality industry, starting as a housekeeper, working at the front desk, and leading in various management positions, including Director of Sales for 5 years and most recently as the General Manager at the Comfort Inn. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organization Leadership from Drury University and a Certified Hospitality Administrator Degree from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute. Besides serving on the Chamber Board of Directors she volunteers as an Ambassador, completed the Leadership Pulaski County Class 3, and is a part of the LPC Alumni. She is a Choices Presentor and has worked with the group creating the Junior Leadership Pulaski County program. She also serves on the Pulaski County Tourism Board as well as serving on a Regional Advisory Board for the Choice Hotels Owners Council. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and is currently working to teach her oldest son how to drive!

Why Janel Loves the Hospitality Industry

I love the Hospitality industry because you get to be the face of your community as well as help people experience our community during their stay. Another reason I love my job and the company I work for is that I can contribute to our regional and local communities. I currently serve on a Regional Advisory Board for Choice Hotels International and I also serve on our tourism Board and the Chamber of Commerce Board. I also enjoy volunteering in the Waynesville School District and being actively involved with my children and the various activities they are involved with locally I am so a proud Leadership Pulaski County Graduate of Class 3 and I continue with the LPC program with the LPC Alumni Association.
