Fort Wood Hotels Gives Back to the Community! Michelle Beckley ASYMCA Board President

At Fort Wood Hotels we care about our community and giving back is part of our mission! We are grateful that our employees stand by our mission to give back and enjoy taking on leadership roles around our community. Today, we would like to spotlight Fort Wood Hotel's Director of Training & Administration, Michelle Beckley! Michelle has been a dedicated Fort Wood Hotels employee for the past 9 years and we are happy to have her on our team!

This year, Michelle took over as the ASYMCA Board President in February. Michelle has served on the Board of Directors since 2018. Our local YMCA gives back to our community in a big way, especially to military families!

About ASYMCA

The Armed Services YMCA of Missouri is located on Fort Leonard Wood. Our goal is to serve our community by offering support and opportunities that empower our military families to learn, grow and thrive. Our free or low cost programs help strengthen young families as they learn to cope with the unique challenges of military life. We focus on programs that promote healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development. No two ASYMCA’s are exactly alike because no two communities are exactly alike. Our programs and facilities are always based on the distinct needs and interests of our community.

The ASYMCA provides so many wonderful opportunities, support, and events, from Father/Daughter or Mother/Son Dances to Summer Camps and an incredible Basketball program. Healthy Kid's Day is probably one of my favorites and all our Operation Little Learner and Help Me Learn/Help Me Grow programs are fantastic.

The Fort Leonard Wood Armed Services YMCA is on a mission to provide support to service members and their families through educational, recreational, and social programs. Our family support services include childcare, mentoring, infant support, and the giving of household goods or financial support to junior enlisted families.

Who I Am!

I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and the Director of Training and Administration for Fort Wood Hotels by Ehrhardt Properties.

My personal philosophy or motto you could say is: To Love others to Love themselves so that in return they are able to Love others.

Three career/life lessons that I have learned:

One lesson I have learned is life-including business is NOT black and white. It’s not even grey. It is red, yellow, green and blue. Some days it is loaded with glitter and others it is the dullest of dull. Every day you should do your best, stay humble, and find all the joy around you that you can because tomorrow…...or even the rest of today is never promised.
I have learned you can learn A LOT by just listening. Giving someone your undivided attention is one of the best gifts you can give.
Last but not least, sometimes you have to take the high road and move on...end of story.
