In Your Honor - Fort Wood Hotels Veterans - A Tribute to Veteran's Day
Veteran's Day is just a few weeks away! At Fort Wood Hotels, we think it's very important to pay a tribute to our Veterans! Veteran's Day will be observed on Wednesday, November 11th and we have many hard-working Veterans employed with us at Fort Wood Hotels. We wanted to honor our Veterans by giving each of them a spotlight in our blog. This week, we would like to feature Roland Castro and Mattie Walden. Read on to learn more about these wonderful individuals and learn about their time spent serving our great country!

3) What Locations Did You Serve and What Units/Positions Did You Hold?
Germany; Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Korea; Fort Wood, Texas, Operation Desert Storm, 2nd Place Wrestling Championship Armed Forces Europe, 3 Armed Forces World Series Championships
I enjoyed the training, discipline, and structure. The ability to train with Nato and Foreign Soldiers. I enjoyed training with some of the most elite in the world. I learned that you can go beyond what your body thinks it can. I could keep going and do more when my body would want to quit.
4) What Did You Enjoy About the Military and/or What Did you Learn While in the Military?

Being in the Army, I enjoyed the sense of purpose of serving my country. In the Army, you quickly learn to listen and respect others and do your job to the best of your ability, and to appreciate what is important in life.
